College for Kids: Design It. Print It! 3D Printing for Teens, Ages 13–17 (GCC Main | Oct. 13, 2026)
Turn your ideas into something you can hold! In this beginner-friendly, hands-on College for Kids workshop, you’ll use Tinkercad to create your own simple 3D design while exploring the basics of 3D modeling and printing. Learn how 3D printers work, how digital designs are prepared for printing, and what it takes to transform an idea on the screen into a physical object.
Location: GCC - Main Campus, 6000 W Olive Ave., STEAMworks Center (SWC) Building, Glendale, AZ 853O2
Date/Time: Tuesday, October 13, 2026 from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Instructor: David Weaver
Your custom design is included with the class and will be 3D printed for you to keep. Because printing takes time, finished projects will be available for pickup at GCC after the workshop.
No prior 3D design or printing experience is needed, and class size is limited for a more hands-on experience.
Before Class: Participants will need to create a free Tinkercad account at Tinkercad.com before attending. Please remember to bring your Tinkercad username and password with you to class so you can access your account.
Waiver Required: A General Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability form signed by a parent or guardian is required for participation. The waiver is linked below for preview. A physical copy may be signed at check-in, or participants may bring a completed signed copy to class.
