Drone Safety Basics: Recreational Flying (GCC Main | Nov. 07, 2026)

Curious about drones or ready to start flying? Join us for a beginner-friendly introduction to safe and responsible drone use, including recreational flying guidelines, drone registration, and the pathway to earning a commercial drone license.

Computers will be available to help participants complete the TRUST recreational drone certification during class.

Whether you’re brand new to drones or looking to build your knowledge, this hands-on class will help you understand the basics and fly with greater confidence. Open to ages 13 and up; participants ages 13–17 must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Waiver Required: All participants must complete a General Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability form before participating. Participants ages 13–17 must have the form signed by a parent or guardian. The waiver is linked below for preview. A physical copy may be signed at check-in, or participants may bring a completed signed copy to class.

Refund Acknowledgement *

Unless otherwise specified, students must drop non-credit Community Education classes prior to the class start date to be eligible for a 100% refund.  Refunds are issued to the original form of payment. To drop a Community Education class, email CTE@gccaz.edu at least 24 hours before the class start date. Please include your name and the class you wish to drop.
